Persuasive leadership is the capacity to engage the hearts and minds of those we lead in the pursuit of shared objectives. We live in a VUCA world- volatile, unpredictable, chaotic and ambiguous- where persuasion is vital. Knowledge workers respond much better to persuasion than to command and control approaches.

The talk, Persuasive Leadership: Lessons from the Arts will show the power and practical relevance of storytelling and symbolism in persuading employees and managers. Focusing on vision, mobiliation and strategy execution, the practical application of persuasive leadership will be demonstrated for the daily work of the human resource professional. A key element of the talk will be about purpose - how to find it for yourself and for those you lead and the benefits of helping those we lead to do so.

What keeps people motivated and engaged? How can I retain my employees’ – If you do, we’re not surprised. Today’s workforce is made up of 5 different generations with each generation bringing their own baggage of what they perceive work to be and the role it plays in their daily lives.

Future-proofing HR

Organisations often think in boxes - departmental boxes, KPI boxes, products in boxes... But this doesn’t work for HR because HR is about people. And people don’t fit into boxes!

It has become widely accepted that people are the driving forces of our businesses and as such, Human Resources is growing in its importance in the board room. But what does becoming future-proof within HR mean? How can HR professionals harness their power to strategically steer the ship within an environment that is highly competitive, increasingly digital and in which millennials are calling for a different way of doing business? What can be done within the existing systems and the reality of budgets and old misconceptions about the role of HR? This multi-faceted talk by Anaïs Bock touches upon a range of subjects to inspire both new questions and new answers to the question: how will the  future of HR look in Malta?

Being based in Berlin, having lived in 7 countries and running her own boutique consultancy on international branding, cultural translation and innovation in business development, Anaïs provides an international perspective on the debate, as well as a disarming playfulness that will have you dancing in your seats.
