Employment Law for Non-HR Practitioners

Supervisors and managers share the human resources team’s responsibility to ensure interactions and relations with employees are compliant. Roselyn Borg Knight guides non HR practitioners through the employment law minefield. The aim of the insight is to deal with key aspects of employment law and good practice. This insight will help participants value and understand what HR brings to their organisation. Participants will get an overview of the main elements of employment law that are important to know in order to be able to understand the problems employees face as well to have a good perspective of the employer's and HR standpoint. Understanding basic employment rights and obligations

This session will cover the relationship between employer and employee, including the contract of employment, the probation period and other rights and obligations during a period of employment.
 
Module 2: Session 2
Time: 11:00 - 13:30

Managing difficult situations and other key aspects of employment law 

This session will deal with disciplinary issues including the importance of following a disciplinary procedure, sickness management and discrimination law.
